With Jon out of the hospital and fully recovered (can you say miracle?!?) tonight we debuted the song we wrote together – “Years from Now” – at Puckett’s Rising Star singer-songwriter contest. And guess what?  We won the crowd vote!!! There was a ton of super talented songwriters there so we were really excited for the chance to perform and hear everyone else.  We’ll be competing in the semi-finals at Puckett’s Boat House on July 23rd!

For more information about the competition, visit Puckett’s Rising Star on Facebook.

It’s here!

Oh My! (Taylor Guitars)

Peyton and Jon with Izzy

Jon’s moving up here Sunday.  I’m literally jumping for joy over this.  I love playing music with him and can’t wait to introduce him to Nashville.  It does present a dilemma though!  He will effectively take over playing “Izzy” – my Taylor 314ce – and leave me guitar-less.  (Is that a word? Should be.)

I’m currently drooling over this…the Taylor 614ce-N…. Seriously, click on the link…it is BEAUTIFUL. My parents are cruel, however (looking at you, mom), and won’t let me buy it until I have 1,000 likes on my facebook page.  So please – like the page – share the page with your guitar loving friends — feel my pain!!!

Clayton Custom

As you may know, I love love LOVE  guitar picks.  My favorites so far are are from John Paul White of The Civil Wars (Braves game)  and Jason Mraz (Jingle Jam).  Now I’m getting my own from Clayton USA.  Aside from being excited about having picks with my face on them (haha), I was really happy with how easy they were to order.  Their custom designer was super easy to use and best of all – they are FAST!!! I’ve seen companies that take 4-6 weeks to ship custom picks.  Mine will be here in less than a week.  WHAT?!?  Here’s a screen shot from my order.  Now you go get some too.  We can trade next time we see each other.  :)

People say the nicest things.  So, if you’re fairly shy and not great at accepting compliments, what’s a girl to do???  Gather the niceness in one place and post it on the internet of course!! :)

I’m really thankful for the kind words people are saying.
